Where to list and promote your Liverpool business

Prepare a useful local business profile, choose relevant listings and find Liverpool business support without relying on ranking promises.

Describe the business a local customer will actually find

A useful Liverpool business profile makes the service, base and contact route clear. An Allerton electrician, a Garston salon and a city-centre restaurant should not all use a vague description that hides where they operate.

If you travel to customers, state the areas covered and how appointments work. A service area is not a collection of staffed branches, and an office used for correspondence may not be a place customers can visit.

Start with a complete directory submission

Liverpool Directory accepts free Standard submissions for review. Search for an existing listing first, then provide the trading name, website, phone number, accurate location and a short original description of the main services. Choose the relevant category and service tags.

Use a business email you can receive messages at so listing-management requests reach the right person. Add a clear image or logo that you have permission to use, and keep outdated prices or unsupported claims out of the description.

Keep other public profiles consistent

Google Business Profile may be appropriate for an eligible business that meets customers in person. Follow Google’s rules about business names, addresses, service areas and verification; an online-only operation has different eligibility from a customer-facing shop.

Use the same core phone, website and location details across relevant directories and your own site. Select places used by your customers rather than submitting the same generic text to as many websites as possible.

Use local support and maintain the details

Liverpool’s Business & IP Centre is based in Central Library and offers business resources and support. The council’s business-support pages provide another starting point for checking current advice and programmes.

Review your listing after a move, service change or new phone number. A clear, maintained profile helps people judge whether to contact you; neither a directory listing nor a paid upgrade guarantees enquiries or search rankings.
